Rslogix Emulate 5000 Serial Number 3,5/5 8836votesHi all, Just want to preface this and say that all of the software I have is properly licensed and activated, that seems to be the first question many people ask when trying to help troubleshoot Emulate 5000. Anyway, when trying to open Emulate 5000 I get the error: 'Unable to read Virtual Backplane Status. Make sure that RSLinx Classic is installed and the Virtual Backplane driver is running.' So I opened up RSLinx Classic (v3.81) and went through the tutorials on how to configure the Virtual Blackplane/SoftLogix driver. The defualt slot number for that driver appears to be 0 (I have also tried slot 2). For whatever reason I am unable to connect to the 00 (or 02) Workstation that it automatically creates in RSWho under that driver (keeps giving me the red 'X' over the picture).
I also tried creating a new project in Studio5000 under the Logix project type using the Emulate 5570 controller.Issue when trying to use Emulate 5000. It's only showing me the RSLogix Emulate 5000 download. Download by Serial. Enter your serial number and company. Serial Transmission System.

Even after a day full of google searches I am unable to find a guide which describes my problem exactly and how to fix it. I have also tried fresh uninstall/installs of each of the programs and had no success. Thanks in advance.For whatever reason it's only showing me the RSLogix Emulate 5000 download option (catalog number 9310-WED200ENF) and not the option to download Studio 5000 Logix Emulate. On Rockwell's compatibility search page it shows the software with versions 24.01, 28.02, and 30.00, but when I click download and it takes me to the download page it does not appear in the drop down.
I have the proper activation for it in FactoryTalk Activation Manager. I'm new to all of Rockwell's software, so sorry in advance for the newbie questions. I'm still willing to bet this is a Windows 10 issue. You can try V30, but their website explicitly lists Windows 7 as the latest supported OS. I've found that when Rockwell says they don't support an OS, it isn't just a case of 'We didn't try it yet'.It literally does not work. Those of you with a 1784-U2DHP (USB to DH+ adapter) when Windows 7 first came out know that this is true. All my Rockwell software works on Windows 10 as well.
