So I've been trying to decide which is the better Sniper for my sniping preferences. I use the same set-up for both (ACOG 4x, Bipod, Silencer) but I just can't seem to decide which serves better.

The JNG-90 seems to have that more reliable OHKO and better range, but doesn't seem to be as accurate and has that god awful re-cock time. The M40A5 has a much better re-cocking time and seems to be more accurate, but that OHKO isn't as reliable and doesn't travel as far. Though it does look as better as a weapon. All the bolt actions have the same accuracy. Advantages of m40 compared to jng are indeed rechambering time and less movement in the scope while doing so. Its bullet velocity is lower tho.
Many consider the jng to be the best 'allround' bolt action rifle, its not the quickest, but its bullet velocity is highest of all the 10 round rifles. In the end, its a matter of taste. My main setup is m98+12x+spb+laser, no matter if i'm after long range kills or going in agressively. I use the other rifles when i'm bored of that setup. I use all of the 7,62 rifles with the same setup exept ill take an 8x. One word of advice: running acog (or lower) has obvious advantages and can be used very successfully, but if someone is serious about using bolt actions i recommend getting used to using larger scopes for shorter distances, not the other way around.
The enemy sniper running a proper scope will always have a better shot at taking your head off, even at relatively short distances. Bolt action= long range semi auto for short range sniping. Are sniping more than 350 yds? If so Jng 90. If you are in the 200-350 range M40. 200 and less should always be a semi auto sniper.
Less sway makes for great long range. But accuracy is needed for those one shot kills intead of 2 shots. With the jng's horrible reload time. Should never snipe from less than 200 yds. And it should never have an ACOG either.
Reload to reaction time is horrible. Basic tips on how to use a sniper until you get really good. Then whatever suits you best. But based on stats of the snipers, this is your basic guide to sniping.
Of course you can snipe at longer distances with any of these. But your stats on certain guns will suffer.
Again this is basic to get the best performance out of your sniper rifle. Want more basic? 200 yds or less = semi auto. 200+ = bolt action. Cant get any simpler than that.
Black2cedryk said: JNG with laser, ballistic + straight pull. I've tried all untill now and the JNG its the most accurate at long ranges. U can't call a dude a sniper with that f.nn HOLO or ACOG.
That's a sniper.!! AND before you and others make any decision, first take a peak at those dudes STAST and see at what MAX RANGE they've made a HEADSHOT. YOU just can't make a stand if you're blow.ing around 100 meters. True this, I finished a match today on kharg with mostly JNG and believe me its a lovely bit of kit especially since ammo guys are scarce And about the headshot distance. Well thought id butt in;).
