Walnut finish in excellent condition. Bench with black leather top and complete owners guide included. Organ appears to be fully intact and in full working order but has not been fully tested or checked by a professional organ technician. It is sold as-is, no returns, with no representation or warranty as to its functional condition.

Up for auction here is a beautiful Baldwin Model 71L electric organ that I am told dates back to the early 1960s. I discovered it in a house in Portage Pa. In a house that I recently purchased. The former owner is an elderly gent who was placed in a nursing home who bought it brand new and enjoyed playing it.
He tells me that he was the original purchaser and bought it in the 60s. I plugged it in and it seems to work perfectly; all the keys and foot pedals operate.
The switches on the top work and the big foot pedal works also. It does need a good cleaning as it sat in the house for about two years uncovered, so it is quite dusty. It measures 44' wide. 22' deep, and 36' high, and I am guessing that it weighs about 250 to 300 pounds. It has a good power cord for 110 volts and has a series of'plug in' jacks on the back. For additional speakers and equipment that is not included.
One of the pictures shows this clearly and I don't know anything about them or organs in general. It has all 4 families of organ tone– full principal chorus. Flutes, reeds, strings(with different celestes on both manuals) super and sub couplers, dual memory combination action with 6 general pistons, 4 pistons per division, toe studs, general cancel plus divisional cancels, divided expression pedals and a crescendo pedal.
It was a fairly competent specification for its day and was installed in a church in March of 1989, then placed in storage for the past 7 or 8 years when the church switched to a more contemporary music format(keyboards, guitars, drums but no organ) Please note: it does not have any external speakers with it. Translation: it won't make a peep until you add your own sound system to it or find an original Baldwin Organ.
Speaker System– this one came with the M5/EA5 modular system which has long since been“decommissioned” However. Depending upon the intended use(like a practice organ in a residence) a modest and respectable sounding speaker system can be cobbled together inexpensively. It has 5 discreet unbalanced line level audio channels for the main division and 5 duplicate discreet audio channels for an optional antiphonal/echo organ.
Mixing them down to a stereo pair is easy. When I first acquired the organ. I thought that I was going to be able to use it to help out a start-up church that I was participating in as a keyboard musician. That opportunity did not materialize.
I am now just trying to reclaim the storage space and come to grips with the fact that I’m never going to be able to use this instrument. I tested it this week and it is all working. I did have a couple hesitant octaves that came right back with a quick thump– two pedal ciphers that were quickly fixed by reseating a Molex cable connecting them to the console.
And it has a small amount of low frequency background noise which can be remedied by unplugging and re-plugging a couple Molex cables on the M. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ELECTRONIC ORGAN BY BALDWIN.
IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND PLAYS A WONDERFUL RICH SOUNDING MUSIC. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL ROLL TOP COVER. IT HAS RICH FULL SOUND.

It has served our church very well. One other time this organ needed repairs and someone in the congregation knew which and how to replace the tube that went out. God has blessed us with a new used organ. The circumstances around how we got the new organ really show God's provision. Timing and wonderous ways.
We would just take this organ to the dump. However our pastors wife would be heart broken to hear of such a thing. So after some prayer and heavy lifting we have decided to part this organ out to help pay for our roof replacement that is coming up in the spring. Here is what I can tell you about it. It turns on and all the keys will work. I tried all the right buttons for instruments and I got different sounds out of each button according to the instrument pushed. The left rhythm buttons all seemed to work fine.
The key selection buttons didn't seem to make much of a difference no matter which button I pushed.but I suspect that is because the user has no idea what he is doing. The Touch Rhythm button didn't do anything.see comment on key selection. The Fun Bass button didn't seem to do much of anything either.again.see the above two comments on that. The bottom left side is discolored. It looks like water damage. But it only affected the left side and the fabric only.
Did not discolor the back or the right side. I took a medium brush and tried to brush it, but it didn't seem to make any difference. All in all it is a pretty fun keyboard to play around on. . Guest11319085Hi there,The model 51 was built in 1959. The Model 54A was built in 1963. The 5 year spread could mean some significant changes in the schematics. However, if your are versed in vacuum tube technology, either vintage should be fairly intuitive.
I am curious about your comment on the innerworks being all electronic. The vacuum tube divider technology (of both models) requires the use of vacuum tubes which can easily be removed and tested for strength and for shorts. A tube tester will be required for this. Someone you know of who works on old radio equipment should have one of the testers. If not, try contacting for help.
